Centenary Match - Sat 4th June - Players required

Good morning All.

As some may know, it is the centenary year for the Knutsford League. It is also the centenary year for Crosstown Bowling Club. Crosstown have organised a day of bowling on Saturday 4th June and would like the Knutsford League to provide a team for them to play. Preferably just two players from each of the 5 divisions but this can be flexible.

Can all captains/club secretaries please ask your players if they would like to take part and get back to me asap. These places will be on a first come first served basis BUT any players are welcome to turn up on the day as there maybe a chance of a game.

Please let me know of any interest as soon as possible.

Kind regards.

KBL 2022 AGM - Summary

KBL – AGM 2022 Summary.

A brief summary of key points from the KBL AGM held last Monday.

1.     Our Chairman Mr Tony Davies has decided to stand down and pass over the chair to someone younger. I am pleased to announce that Mr Robert Eaton is now the Chairman of the KBL. Tony will remain on the management committee. The vice chair position will be taken by Mr Ray Brandreth.

2.      Rule Changes – There were three proposed changes to the rules.
1. The league be opened to lady members. The resulting vote rejected this change.

2. At the AGM votes are, one vote per club. Rule change from CLUB to TEAM was submitted. The resulting vote rejected this change.

3. The temporary rule where players can play twice has been extended to the 2022 season with a minor change. “Players playing twice have to be drawn at random from the first four blocks” The resulting vote passed this change.

I would also like to mention this rule DOES NOT apply to the Team KO; it is for league matches only.

3.    I would also like to welcome Goostrey BC back into the league after their application to join was accepted.

Fixtures are currently being compiled and should be available on the website soon.

Jid Webb.

As you are all aware we need to bring all clubs up to date with current safeguarding procedures for next season.
