Secretary’s Report

Each representative handed all fixture cards/entry forms for competitions and system passwords.

Season starts 4th April with competitions starting in June – no allocations of greens yet.

Rules are pretty much as is (with some subtle changes detailed later).

Notice from the Roebuck – 6.30 start from beginning of season – waiting for floodlights to be fixed.

Greater Manchester Meeting – Insurance – Endsleigh open 1st April. May-Dec will be done at a reduced rate. Going forward, it will be Jan-Dec rather than May-May.

BCG Meeting – No major changes.

  1. At the start of the game – block can be between 1 and 2m from the edge of the green.
  2. Footwear – No open toe sandals
  3. If you forfeit a bowl for any reason and the end becomes dead – you will still forfeit that bowl for the next end.

Safe-Guarding update – a bit of a backlog – GM will get around to everything. There is no need to panic if anything is expired. You will be contacted.

There is a funding scheme that has been set up with listed retailers to potentially sign up to – more details to follow.

Venues – Mersey Valley would in future charge £30 for hire of the venue. Previous meetings had been free of charge at Brooklands, South West Manchester and Flixton Cons. Next meeting pencilled in as United Services for the moment, with a view to then alternating between Sale and Urmston.

AOB - Insure4sport – D Williams has commented does it count when away as well? May be something to discuss further with them.

All greens are on the green finder on website.

Question arose of why use yellow blocks not used for floodlit greens – would be a BCG matter.

Davyhulme park mentioned a number for a CR1 form – RK to get numbers where needed.

Treasurer’s Report

No real changes

Ongoing work with signatures for accounts

May need another account but a lot of hoops to jump through to open.

League (Urmston) have been given a bill for artworks and costs rendered for this years booklets. Seemingly all done word of mouth through Bob Wheatland. Bill is £145 which affects Urmston League only. Additional funds that would be split to the teams may decrease slightly if league need to pay the bill.

Going forward the league will always have an official PO Number so there is traceability.

The eventual payout to Urmston clubs would be calculated per team and not per club.

Comments were in terms of gaining sponsorship around the greens as a potential. Lists of companies would be correlated by RK and if clubs interested they were to mail RK.
