Minutes of Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 29th July at the Railway Inn Bowling Club at 7pm
Present:
Ann Penson Treasurer, Keith Poskitt KBC, Sylvia Buckley Victory Hall, Kath Perks Cranford, Steph Dawson & Helen Jennings Mere, Celia Brown Railway, Derek Hurdle Goostrey, Carol Critchley Church Inn and Jen Wills Secretary,
In the absence of the Chairman, Carol Critchley chaired the meeting.
- Apologies:

- Minutes of Previous Meeting 26th June 2025:
These were accepted, dated and signed as a true record.
- Matters arising:
The Sec had continued to monitor “Unfriendly Play” and reported that scores of 1,2 or 3 were still occurring. The Committee felt that this was a normal part of the game and that monitoring could cease.
- Chairman’s Report:
The Chairman did not send a report.
- Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer reported that Sammi (Victory Hall) had agreed to act as Auditor.
- Secretary’s Report;
i.Correspondence – a reminder that Ian Smith is the acting Cheshire County Registrar
- Pairs Competition 6th July at Chelford;
22 teams entered this very successful Competition and thanks are extended to the Chairman and members of Chelford for their superb hospitality. The raffle raised £45 for the league.
A “mini plate“ competition was held for the unlucky first round losers which was warmly received by the assembled crowd who stayed to the end and requests for a repeat were received.
- Mixed Pairs Competition 3rd August at the Church Inn:
17 Pairs have entered the competition including Phil Whitehead who, because of illness, has been unable to satisfy qualification. The Committee agreed to accept his entry.
The Competition will start at 11am and it and the Raffle will be managed by the Church Inn.
NB Please do not park on the Church Inn car park but, as usual, use the car park at the school if it is open, otherwise use the lay-by opposite the church.
- Extraordinary Meeting (EGM) Sunday 17th August 2025 to be held at Knutsford Bowling Club at 7pm.
Please see attached Agenda and associated information for the Captain’s distribution along, with an invitation to attend, to all to all members of the league.
It was agreed that vital associated issues; League funding, succession planning; and the formation of a formal committee will be addressed at the next AGM.
The Sec reported that so far only 7 members had confirmed their attendance with many “hope to” and “maybe”s. Keith kindly offered the use of Knutsford Bowling Cub.
In the absence of a rule for voting rights, the Committee decided that all attendees will have the right to vote.
