Minutes of Committee Meeting held on Thursday 26th June 2025 at 7pm at Knutsford Bowling Club.
Present:
Ann Penson Treasurer, Keith Poskitt KBC, Sylvia Buckley Victory Hall, Kath Perks Cranford, Steph Dawson & Helen Jennings Mere, Roger Mansell Chelford, Celia Brown Railway and Jen Wills Secretary,
In the absence of the Chairman, Jen Wills chaired the meeting.

- Minutes of Previous Meeting 21st May 2025:
These were accepted, dated and signed as a true record.
- Chairman’s Report:
The Chairman asked that the success of the Individual Competition be mentioned.
- Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer reported that:
- 5 clubs had paid for 4 tickets for the Presentation evening;
- the league still did not have an auditor but Sammi (Victory Hall) will be approached; and
- the league’s insurance did not cover accidental damage to the trophies. See below
- Secretary’s Report;

- Emails relating to the proposed Presentation evening from:
Jonathan Springer - High Legh;
Kevin Edge - Mersey Valley; and
Jill Caveney - Church Inn.
were addressed below under Presentation evening.
- Email from Adrian Hough re difficulty he had experienced when trying to rearrange a fixture date.

- Pairs Competition 6th July at Chelford;
- Number of entries; 22 teams
- Start time; 11am
- Handicaps;
- Refreshments; will be provided by the club
- Raffle: It was decided to hold a raffle at this event, with prizes to be donated on the day

Sec to publish the draw on Monday June 30th.
Chelford to manage the Raffle
- Re- silvering of Trophies:
The Sec reported that she had been told by the re-silvering shop that much of their work was covered by insurance and advised to check this. See above
- Presentation Evening:
Following a lengthy discussion about the above emails and general hearsay for and against, it was thought that those who had voted for the introduction of catered food at this event, may not have properly understood the cost and how this would be funded.
The Committee felt unable to change a decision taken at the AGM, and that more discussion was needed so has called an Extraordinary Meeting on 17th August 2025 at 7pm. Venue to be decided.
Both the Treasurer and the Secretary felt that their positions were no longer tenable and will not be seeking re-election. Both officers agreed to continue in post until the next AGM if the League wishes it.

This has been monitored in Division 2 and records show that there have been 3 0s (all shown as Absent), 1x1 and 3x2
9 mile Rule for membership of League:
The Treasurer has obtained a map which shows that all greens are within the 9 mile radius from the centre of Knutsford (Rule 1.1.3).
