1.  DAVYHULME PARK PROPOSAL

BY LAW 12 STATES :-

12. THE A LEAGUE SHALL CONSIST OF SIX TEAMS AND THE B LEAGUE SHALL CONSIST OF SIX PLAYERS . WE WOULD LIKE TO PROPOSE THAT THIS IS CHANGED TO

' THE LEAGUE SHALL CONSIST OF TEAMS MADE UP OF TEN PLAYERS'

REASONING :- IT HAS BECOME OBVIOUS OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF SEASONS THAT TEAMS ARE STRUGGLING TO PUT OUT TWO TEAMS EACH OF SIX PLAYERS. IN ORDER TO DO THIS CLUBS NEED TO HAVE AROUND NINE OR TEN PLAYERS FOR EACH TEAM, A TOTAL OF 18 TO 20 PLAYERS PER CLUB. WITH A SINGLE LEAGUE MADE UP OF TEN PLAYERS EACH CLUB ONLY NEED TO HAVE 14 PLAYERS TO SERVICE THE TEAM. FOLLOWING OUR AGM YESTERDAY IT HAS BECOME APPARENT TO US THAT WE WILL BE SHORT OF PLAYERS TO MAKE UP TWO, SIX PLAYER TEAMS.

PROPOSAL BY THE COMMITTEE

2.  RULE 19

WHERE A CLUB HAS BOTH AN A AND B TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. PLAYERS  REGISTERED AS A TEAM PLAYERS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR THE B TEAM .

ONLY ONE SUCH PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN ANY ONE MATCH. PLAYERS FROM THE B TEAM CAN ALSO PLAY FOR THE B TEAM , AGAIN ONLY ONE SUCH PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN ANY ONE MATCH. A PLAYER CAN ONLY PLAY IN ONE MATCH ON THE SAME CALENDER DAY.  THIS RULE WILL ONLY APPLY FOR FOUR GAMES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

3.    SALE PROPOSAL

WHERE A CLUB HAS BOTH AN A TEAM AND B TEAM IN THE LEAGUE . PLAYERS REGISTERED AS A TEAM PLAYERS WILL ONLY BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR THE B TEAM WHEN HE/SHE HAS A MINUS AVERAGE. ONLY TWO SUCH PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN ANY ONE MATCH. PLAYERS FROM THE B TEAM CAN PLAY FOR THE A TEAM WITH NO RESTRICTIONS AS REGARDS THEIR AVERAGE . A PLAYER CAN ONLY PLAY IN ONE MATCH ON THE SAME CALENDER DAY. THIS WILL RETAIN THE A AND B TEAM SYSTEM WHILST ENSURING MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY FOR TEAM SELECTION.

4. WINTON PARK PROPOSAL [ CHANGE OF AGGREGATE SCORING SYSTEM TO POINTS ]

IF BOTH DIVISIONS REMAIN AS THEY ARE , THAT BEING SIX GAMES EACH MATCH. ONE POINT IS AWARDED FOR EACH GAME WON AND 2 POINTS AWARDED FOR WINNING THE AGGREGATE AT HOME AND THREE POINTS FOR WINNING THE AWAY AGGREGATE. [ EG. THE MAXIMUM POINTS AT HOME WOULD BE EIGHT AND THE MAXIMUM POINTS AWAY WOULD BE NINE. ] THIS WOULD BE A MUCH FAIRER SYSTEM THAN THE EXISTING SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS IN PLACE IN OTHER LEAGUES

League Cup Competitions

Newtown A beat Urmston A to become the A division cup winners. The game between Irlam B and Sale B had an interesting conclusion, in that both teams tied.

It was decided between the respective club captains that both teams would share the trophy for six months of the year.

Bowler of the Year

B MERIT CUP COMPETITION

Bowler of the Year

Eccles Rec' kindly hosted the event in brilliant sunshine. The entry list for the A Division ended up with Phil Barlow from Newtown overcoming the gallant Paul Kelly from Urmston .

The B Division had a larger group of entrants bowling on No. 2 green. After some fantastic matches we were left with a 'heavyweight ' semi - final line up. Tony Eckersley drew out Anton Vallom, who advanced to the final. The other semi-final was contested between Haydn Surtees, Newtown and 'Big G'  Graham Woods, representing Cadishead. Sadly for 'Big G' he found Haydn 'on fire' with Haydn winning through 21-10. Haydn continued with his excellent form in the final beating Anton 21-12 to lift the silverwear.
