Welcome to the Altrincham Ladies Bowling League. Establised nearly 90 years ago, we are a very active league, with ten teams playing on Wednesday afternoons. We also have four individual and one pairs competition, and a lively foursome event at the start and close of each season. For further information, please contact fixture secretary Rosie Jeffery

League PairsThe League Pairs competition was held at The Railway Club on a very hot day (remember those??) Eleven pairs entered. The semi finals were played between Sue Woods and Sylvia Bradbury against Judith Taylor and Rosie Jeffery. Judith and Rosie won that one to 14. The second one was between Jackie Goodwin and Maria Rothwell against Deb Willey and Barbara Riley, with Jackie and Maria winning to 7. Jackie and Maria went on to win the final against Judith and Rosie to 15. Many thanks to the Railway for their organisation and excellent refreshments. | |

Opening 4somesWorthington Park hosted the Opening 4's on Wednesday. As usual the refreshments were excellent and the weather was kind. There was a fantastic turnout for the competition with over 20 pairs taking part. It is always a great way to brush the cobwebs off and warm up the bowls! Competition was fierce, but the eventual winners were: =4th Jenny Griffin and Hayley Wells Maureen Murray and Jane Picton 3rd Stef Ashraf and Chris Renshaw 2nd Phil O'Keefe and Lynn Wilkinson 1st Anne McCann and Alison Hobday Well played everyone and thanks to The Railway for their organisation. Bonson TrophyThe Bonson trophy was held at Hale Moss. The weather was fine but cold. Sixteen ladies entered the competition, with the final being between Susan Keefe and Jackie Goodwin - Jackie emerging victorious. Many thanks to The Railway for organising the competition and to Hale Moss for hosting. Refreshments as usual were excellent! Hopefully we will have a few more entrants at the next competition! | |
