Knutsford Friday Bowling League

Minutes of meeting held Thursday 18th May 2017 at Mere Parish Club

  1. Apologies for absence were received from Glenise Barnett & Hazel Crook (Knutsford) Allan Burdett (High Legh) Alison Robinson (Warford Park) & Allan Edwards (Victory Hall) Knutsford, Victory Hall & Warford Park were not represented.
  2. Minutes of previous meeting held 26th January were discussed with all matters covered at the AGM
  3. Matters arising. There were no matters arising
  4. Officers Report. The Chairman had nothing to report at this early stage of the season. The Treasurer confirmed the bank balance stood at £429.25. The secretary said that just before the season started Warford Park had withdrawn from the league, however thanks to a sterling effort by Les Jennings and the New Chairman Alison Robinson the club has survived and recruited new players. The outstanding first match of the season versus Chelford B will be played on Thursday 25th May and again thanks to Chelford for their help in fitting in this fixture into their busy schedule.
  5. Handicaps – Proposed handicaps for 2017 were circulated. Delegates were asked to contact the Secretary if any anomalies were found
  6. Individual Competition. 70 members had entered this year’s competition. Yes 70, this had the Treasure looking back through his records, and he couldn’t find this number of entries going back as far as 1999. Preliminary rounds will be held on Friday 2nd June, with the final at the Railway Inn on Sunday 4th June commencing at 12.30pm. The draw took place and will be published on the web site.
  7. Any Other Business. The Secretary advised the meeting of one or two changes to the team contacts and confirmed that he would e-mail the details to the team captains. He reminded the meeting that we will need a new President for 2018 following the decision by Ken to not seek re election next year, but he was please to report the Chairman would now stand again next year, although this does not prohibit other candidates for coming forward for any of the officer positions.
